Seminar Title: Techniques for Managing ADHD-Related Behaviors and Promoting Positive Interactions Using Emotional Intelligence

Objective

Participants will learn advanced techniques for managing ADHD-related behaviors and fostering positive student interactions using emotional intelligence (EI) as the core approach. The seminar will provide practical tools and strategies to create a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Seminar Outline

Welcome and Seminar Objectives (5 minutes)
– Brief introduction of the facilitator and participants.
– Overview of seminar objectives and the importance of EI in managing ADHD behaviors.
Quick Review of ADHD and Emotional Intelligence (10 minutes)
– Recap of ADHD symptoms and challenges in the classroom.
– Overview of emotional intelligence and its key components relevant to classroom management.

Identifying Common ADHD Behaviors (10 minutes)
– Discuss common ADHD-related behaviors that disrupt learning and social interactions.
– Explore the emotional and cognitive challenges behind these behaviors.
Emotional Triggers and Responses (15 minutes)
– Analyze emotional triggers that exacerbate ADHD behaviors.
– Discuss typical responses from students with ADHD and how these can be managed using EI.

Proactive Classroom Management Strategies (15 minutes)
– Setting clear expectations and creating consistent routines.
– Techniques for providing structure and predictability to reduce anxiety and impulsivity.
– Using visual aids and organizational tools to help students stay on task.
Reactive Strategies for Behavioral Incidents (15 minutes)
– De-escalation techniques: how to respond calmly to emotional outbursts.
– Implementing time-outs and breaks effectively.

– Techniques for teaching self-awareness and emotional regulation to students.

– Facilitator provides feedback and additional insights.

Personal Reflection and Application (10 minutes)
